What Do you Think OF the British-American so Called relationship?

-

Since the Dawn of the British Empire America has been a British colony of the "British Empire".

Since the World war 2 America only got involved when the "Japanese Empire at that time attacked Perl harbor on orders from germany Not because of Great Britain.

The UK was fighting Communism and germany at that time and was slowly winning the war effort but it took a strain but Britain prevailed and germany fell.
———————————-

"I find it quite pathetic if I may be frank that we go on talking about this special relationship; this is the most naive delusion fostered on this side of the Atlantic hardly ever referred to on the other side of the Atlantic.

If America has a special relationship it is with Israel but on the outside of that they have relationships of all sorts of nations like Japan for obvious reasons and you can go on.

But the idea that Britain Ranks above all else is wrong; why don’t you cast your minds back to the IRA terrorist’s when we told them to stop the flow of money to them. Minster after Minster but the money kept flowing"

Britain should Slash all relationship with the United States of America and only speak on UN and EU matters

Till the British People get a “Proper apology”

What makes this worse for British people is that we showed off to the world “Britannia’s Iron Fist” in the Falkland’s war and crushed the Argentinean Army!. And once again in the Iranian Embassy siege in London was a clear shock wave to the world "Britain is not weak"

Britain still has very much its military power within Roots of the “common wealth” also known as the “British Empire”.

Do you think The British People should to Split apart From USA

I think that the UK should slash all relations and only focus on “proper matters”

What do you Think?

We love the Brits. Sorry if we hurt your feelings.

Conversations w/Great Minds Stephanie Cooke – The Nuclear Age P1

-

great minds united londonThis Sunday will mark the one year anniversary of the beginning of the Fukushima nuclear disaster – and a year on – the disaster continues to devastate the people and nation of Japan. Towns and cities within miles of the Fukushima plant are still covered in a fine layer of radioactive dust – and have been turned into nuclear wastelands – devoid of life. Those lucky enough to have survived the earthquake and tsunami are now battling radiation poisoning and and the probability of cancer and birth defects. As hundreds of thousands of people across the world prepare to commemorate the tragedy over the course of the next month – we need to ask ourselves – is nuclear power really worth enduring such a horrible and deadly disaster? Will there ever be a way to make nuclear power a safe form of energy – or do we need to move away from it all together? Tonight we have a special edition of Conversations with Great Minds – featuring Stephanie Cooke. Stephanie is one of the world’s top reporters and authors on the issues of nuclear energy and the use and history of nuclear weapons and is a real industry insider. Her articles on nuclear topics have appeared in a variety of publications – including Readers Digest – The International Herald Tribune – and GQ magazine. Stephanie first began her reporting career in 1977 at the Associated Press – and later moved to London where she covered the Chernobyl disaster for Business Week. She returned to the United States in 2004 to complete her most recent book, “In Mortal Hands: A Cautionary History of the Nuclear Age.” Currently – Stephanie is the editor of Nuclear Intelligence Weekly – part of the Energy Intelligence Group.

I have really decided to give out the house as a result of my transfer to London ( UK)…..No awesome credit.. The house is not under any property management, I have withdraw my house from their listings…and I am taking charge of my house personally as the landlord, that was the reason why the house rent is low, because there is no broker fee attached to it, and I am renting it out for a good family that will take care of my house not just a wealthy family..

I will be giving out the house for $600 with a security deposit of $900. I need to inform you as well that money is not the major reason why I am renting it out but want someone who can take care of it as if he/she owns it. So let me know as soon as possible if you can take good care of it, so that we can discuss the rent further. Pets are allowed.

We initially wanted to sale the house but we changed our minds and decided to rent it out because the economy is bad and it has also affected the housing market. We might decide to sale in the future but for now we are just renting it out.

The keys are with me and there is nobody of mine that can show you the inside of the house. I hope the pictures I sent to you, can give you the ideal inside of the house. The keys will be sent to you, if you are ready to rent the house and on the condition that the security deposit has been paid.

After receiving the keys and you are not okay with the house, your money is refundable, and our keys should not spent upto 2days with you, before posting it back to us, otherwise, we will agree that you are okay with the house.

If you are interested you can go by and view it but you will not be able to go inside cause the keys are here with me in United Kingdom .. Here is the address of the house ( 6119 VENETIAN WAY N Mobile, AL 36608 ).
I await your reply.

Karman Afzal & Alia Sharif
+447024036772.. """

First thing is a house like this generally goes for around $1,100/mo to rent.
Second he is in another country
Third he has no one here to show the house and wants the deposit sent in order to get the keys sent.
If it is legitimate I would love to rent it but it seems strange to me. Is there anyway to make sure I dont get a $900 deposit stolen from me and never receiver keys, or move into a home that is about to be forclosed on or something? thanks
How and where can I see who owns the house?

Your common sense serves you right. This definitely is a scam, and you should forward the email to rentalhouses.com. I am certain that they would want to know that someone is using their site to conduct a scam.

Oliver Sachs MD – Original air date July 1986

-

great minds united londonOliver Sacks was born in 1933 in London, England (both of his parents were physicians) and earned his medical degree at Queen’s College, Oxford. In the early 1960s, he moved to the United States and completed an internship in San Francisco and a residency in neurology at UCLA. Since 1965, he has lived in New York, where he is clinical professor of neurology at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, adjunct professor of neurology at the NYU School of Medicine and consultant neurologist to the Little Sisters of the Poor.
In 1966 Dr. Sacks began working as a consulting neurologist for Beth Abraham Hospital, a chronic care facility in the Bronx where he encountered an extraordinary group of patients, many of whom had spent decades in strange, frozen states, like human statues, unable to initiate movement. He recognized these patients as survivors of the great pandemic of sleepy sickness that had swept the world from 1916 to 1927, and treated them with a then-experimental drug, L-dopa, which enabled them to come back to life. They became the subjects of his second book, Awakenings (1973), which later inspired a play by Harold Pinter (“A Kind of Alaska “) and the Oscar-nominated Hollywood movie, “Awakenings,” with Robert De Niro and Robin Williams.

Dr. Sacks is perhaps best known for his 1985 collection of case histories from the far borderlands of neurological experience, The Man Who Mistook His Wife for a Hat , in which he describes patients struggling to live with conditions ranging from Tourette’s Syndrome to autism, parkinsonism, musical hallucination, phantom limb syndrome, schizophrenia, retardation and Alzheimer’s disease. (This book later inspired a dramatic work by Peter Brook, “L’Homme Qui. . . .)

As a physician and a writer, Oliver Sacks is concerned above all with the ways in which individuals survive and adapt to different neurological diseases and conditions, and what this experience can tell us about the human brain and mind. His books exploring these themes have been bestsellers around the world and are used widely in universities in courses on neuroscience, writing, ethics, philosophy and sociology. They have served as the inspiration for artists working in forms as varied as poetry, essay, documentary, drama, painting, dance, cinema and fiction.

In 1989, Dr. Sacks received a Guggenheim Fellowship for his work on what he calls the “neuroanthropology” of Tourette’s syndrome, a condition marked by involuntary tics and utterances, and how its symptoms can be perceived differently in different cultures.

His nine books, which also include Migraine (1970), A Leg to Stand On (1984) , Seeing Voices: A Journey into the World of the Deaf (1990), An Anthropologist on Mars (1995), and The Island of the Colorblind (1996), have received numerous awards and have sold several million copies worldwide in 22 languages. His most recent books are Oaxaca Journal (2002) and Uncle Tungsten: Memories of a Chemical Boyhood (2001).

He is a regular contributor to The New Yorker and The New York Review of Books , as well as various medical journals, and he is an honorary fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Letters, the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, the New York Academy of Sciences, and Queen’s College. The New York Times has referred to Dr. Sacks as “the poet laureate of medicine,” and in 2002 he was awarded the Lewis Thomas Prize by Rockefeller University, which recognizes the scientist as poet.

Dr. Sacks has been awarded honorary doctorates from Georgetown University, Tufts University, the College of Staten Island, New York Medical College, the Medical College of Pennsylvania, Bard College, Queen’s University (Ontario), and the University of Turin

Scholarships that go oversea’s?

-

I thought this was a great question that ran across my mind. If I was wanting to go to college, to somewhere like a college in London or another town in England or France. But I’m from the United States, would they offer scholarships for me wanting to do that? Or, do they offer any scholarships concerning that. (Coming from another Country that is.) Thank you, any response would be great!

Yes, there are some limited resources available to students who wish to study abroad. Students can apply for scholarships on search sites like internationalscholarships.com.

Students who are participating in a dual enrollment program with their US university and a sister university abroad, may be eligible for scholarships and financial aid. Additionally, because they receive credit in the US, these students can continue to receive some domestic financial aid like student loan funds and grants.

If a student attending a university abroad has a superior academic record, he or she may be offered financial aid from the hosting university.
